Switch from POP3 over to IMAP

Hello All,

Our company uses Outlook 2010. All accounts are set up on POP3.

I would like to switch them over to IMAP as I want to be able to retrieve my emails on my iPhone 4s but still be able to pick them up on my laptop.

What is the best way to do this? We still need access to our old emails. Recently, I made some changes to everyone's computers and somehow people have two inboxes. I don't want to have that kind of snafu again.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to do this or what problems I could be introducing?

When you use imap you can't avoid two data files in outlook. You need one for calendar and contacts and one for email. You need to keep the POP data file in the profile but remove the pop email account. This will hold the calendar and contacts. The email can stay in the POP3 data file or be moved into the IMAP folders if you want to move it back to the server.

Thanks for the response. Is there an automated way to move the emails from each account over to the IMAP server?

I'm not aware of any way to automate it, besides using a macro. You could try using Import, but I'm not sure if Outlook will let you choose the IMAP folders as the destination. There might be migration utilities you could use.
