Automatic switch between working offline/online

Is there any way to make Outlook automatically switch between Work Offline and Work Online states? For example, if I unplug ethernet cable, turn wifi off, switch to airplane mode etc., it would switch to work offline (thus not checking email every X minutes and not adding to Sync Issues). And vice versa - when network is detected, back to connected mode.
 
It should be automatic if the connection is not available. If is not going officne correctly, you'll need to do it - I have a macro that can swap between online and offline, although I'm not sure how time-saving it would be.
 
Automatic for all modes of operation, or just exchange?
 
I thought it was for all but could be wrong - I only have exchange and IMAP in my profile currently and don't recall the IMAP account bugging me when I don't have internet. The last person I helped wanted a vbscript because it wasn't going to offline. I'll have to test it/check it - back when I had a POP account, the More Settings dialog had a lot more options including for connection - now I'm curious and will boot an old system and see what the options were.

I have VBScript and PowerShell that will turn it off and on - these are good for people who don't want to be bugged with new mail, because it's still a manual operation.


In Send/Receive settings (Ctrl+Alt+S) - do you have outlook scheduled when offline?

No, everything is unchecked there for Offline mode.
