Problem sync group goole calendar with outlook 2001

I have several google calendars that I sync with my work outlook calendar. I was recently added to a group calendar for my daughters soccer team.

I would like to share the ical link but would prefer to do it privately if a moderator would like to test.

I get the following error in outlook every time I try to added it to my internet calendars list:

Cannont verify or add the Internet Calendar in Outlook. Verify the link is a valid calendar link:

I have tried numerous things to rectify this:

  • change https to webcals
  • the ical link inserts a %40 into the email address of the calendar. I have tried changing the %40 back to @
  • verifing the link in IE. copy and paste into address bar. it comes back as calendar error feed processing error.

I thought it might be an issue with the calendar sharing permissions. I had the calendar owner check the sharing permissions and I matched them against my personal google calendar that syncs just fine with my out look. the permissions match. Maybe it's something to do with it being a group calendar instead of private.

I am not sure where to go from here.
