Outlook 2016 search problem persists after applying all known solutions

PROBLEM: search in email folders does not work (“No results.”) Search in iCloud-based Contacts and Calendar works, but search in PC-based Contacts and Calendar does not work.

Ran in Safe Mode -- SEARCH WORKS

Ran scanpst.exe on pst file multiple times – result was always the following… i.e., scanpst does not seem to fix the problems.
“Only minor inconsistencies were found in this file. Repairing the file is optional.”

Running in normal mode (i.e., not Safe Mode) with disabled macros and disabled add-ins, after SFC /SCANNOW, after rebuilding Outlook indices, after running Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST Repair software -- SEARCH DOES NOT WORK ("No results")

Any suggestions???

Do you have anything in the calendar and contacts folders? iCloud sucks them into the icloud folders in outlook.

In Outlook Calendars, I have two groups: "My Calendars" and "iCloud". There is nothing in the calendars under "My Calendars". Does search not work on the calendars under the "iCloud" grouping? The situation is similar for Contacts, i.e., two groups, with all contacts in the iCloud file. Again, shouldn't I be able to use Outlook to serach on these "iCloud-based" databases?
 
I just upgraded to version 1801, but still cannot search things in OL.

Don't know if this could be the issue ---- on my previous laptop (Outlook 2010), I used "CodeTwo Sync for Outlook" to sync Outlook and iCloud -- worked fine. When I got a new laptop recently (Outlook 2016), I had the impression that Outlook and/or iCloud had been enhanced so that I no longer needed CodeTwo -- syncing works fine, but no search.

I have two email accounts -- one is my personal email (wade@wandkcampbell.com) and the other is the iCloud account (...@icloud.com) that I believe I needed to set up in order to be able to sync my iPhone with my Outlook -- both are IMAP/SMTP.
 
you don't need icloud email if you don't actually use it - icloud set up adds it automatically but you an delete it if you don't need it. I don't think it is causing problems, but who knows. :)

I didn't test searching for appointments in icloud, only email - is search failing in email or just in the calendar? (and probably contacts)
