Change reminder times of future appointments

How can I change the reminder times of future appointments/meetings? People have sent me invitations with 18 Hour reminders, I don't want that they can control when I want to be reminded. I want to change/override all my existing and future appointment times to be say 15 minutes, how to do this, thanks?
