Defaul open to newest email in inbox

I have searched for this topic and not able to find anything addressing this. When I open Outlook it default to highlight the last email I read. I have to manually scroll to top to see the most recent emails. Is there a setting to direct opening Outlook to default to the most recent email (not the last one I read). I get a lot of email and I'm missing things when I forget to scroll up to see the most recent. I have used other email programs Thunderbird, etc. and they all default to the top (most recent in my sorting order) of my default inbox.

Outlook should go to the newest messages when you close and reopen it, but it won't automatically jump to the newest after outlook is open - I'm guessing the problem is that outlook opens, the last message downloaded in the last session is selected and a few minutes later new mail arrives. It won't jump up automatically but you can press Home on your keyboard to jump to the top.
