I am new to this site and I need to ask a few questions a few days ago I accidently deleted the entire outlook folder PST files and everything else. I have tried everything I know to recover it but no luck I guess I have lost it for good I had 5 years’ worth of info in those files over 500 contacts all the online bill pay info ect,ect. But enough about that. I have been using outlook for years and never had this kind of a problem. I am using outlook as my primary E-Mail and have synchronized hot mail to work in outlook also. My question is when I go to back up my PST file I find them in two places on my computer. The regular E-Mail PST is located in the Documentsfolder but the Hotmail is located in in C drive why is that? I deleted the folder by mistake when cleaning a lot of unused folders in Documents. I have never seen PST file located in the documents file and that is the only file in that folder nothing else. Where is the rest of the operating system the .exe file ect,ect When you go to C drive where Hot mail is everything is in the folder .exe ect,ect. This is why I think I deleted it along with a lot of other folders
Any help I could get would be great
Using Outlook 2010 with Windows 7 Pro.

Hotmail is stored in an ost file and doesn't need to be backed up - a copy of everything is stored on the server. The pst files that need to be backed up are in the Documents folder, in the outlook files folder.

If you deleted the pst file and emptied the recycle bin in windows, you might be able to recover the pst if you use recovery software soon after deleting it - but having a backup copy is good too.

If you don't mind my asking, how did you delete the pst that it was not recoverable?
