Sometimes, when launching Outlook 2016 the very 1st/first time, after booting, I am getting the following error: 0x800CCC0F 'The connection to the server was interrupted'
Outlook contains 5 email accounts: 2x gmail, 2x some other ISP and 1 Outlook.com
All are using POP3
There are no issues with the other mail accounts. The issue only occurs with Outlook.com
Outlook: pop-mail.outlook.com
- the account has been set up correctly and is working normally, except above.
- a pst repair makes no sense - there is nothing wrong with the pst files
- have increased the server timeouts setting from 1 -> 3 minutes does not help
(File->Account Settings->Account Settings->Change->email tab->More Settings->tab: Advanced->Server Timeouts)
- disabling AV does not help
- Internet connection works properly
After about 5-6 minutes the mail can be retrieved without problems.
The problem will not occur anymore the entire day. Actually it may not occur the next day, or the day thereafter.
It could very well be that a week passes by without this issue.
I always use the same set of applications after pc boot.
So:
- occasional issue only as at 1st launch only
- 'automatically' solved after waiting a couple of minutes.
I have seen many posts about this 0x800CCC0F error on Internet, with the default 'solutions' : checking Outlook and ISP settings.
Usually these threads end up with these 'default solutions', i.e. there is no feedback anymore as to whether or not the matter has been solved.
Also folks reporting this error are facing it very regular/constantly, not just once every xx days and only at 1st launch.
Probably I need to live with this 'glitch', but nonetheless I am curious to know what might be the problem.
Thanks!
