Outlook/2007+Office 365
About a month ago I started getting a message: "Microsoft Outlook is requesting data from the server" in my tray. This completely freezes up Outlook. Typically, when I first start Outlook, it's fine for an hour or so then I get this message. I have to click the icon to "cancel server request" then it eventually comes back for a short time before the error persists again -- all day long.
The obvious answer is to upgrade my Outlook 2007 which is required by Office/365 by October anyway, but I'm in transition to a new machine and don't have room for an upgrade; need to get another couple of months out of this machine.
I have googled this error extensively. It is not due to my router or network because I have a laptop with Outlook 2013 that doesn't have this problem. It is not due to mailbox size because if I open a profile for a very tiny mailbox, I get the same problem. It is probably not a registry error because I setup a new user on my PC with a small/new e-mail profile and still get the error.
Any ideas on how I can solve this problem without reinstalling a newer version of Outlook?
