Gmail not removed from server

I have Gmail as POP in Outlook 365.
  • In Outlook Account Settings I set “Leave a copy of messages on the server” and "Remove from server when deleted from Deleted Items".
  • In Outlook Inbox I press Del on messages to send them to the Deleted Items folder. Then I right-click on Deleted Items and select Empty Folder.
  • Then F9 Send/Receive.
But logging into my Gmail online, the messages are still there in the Inbox.
 
I'm not sure Gmail lets you have that much control with POP... but what are your Gmail settings in gmail.com?

My Gmail settings in gmail.com::
  • POP is enabled
  • When messages are accessed with POP: Keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox
  • IMAP is enabled
  • When I mark a message in IMAP as deleted: Auto-Expunge on
  • When a message is marked as deleted and expunged from the last visible IMAP folder: Archive the message
