Moving Microsoft 365 mailboxes from a different domain to our current domain

I have been tasked with figuring out how to move Microsoft 365 mailboxes from a different company and domain to our Microsoft 365 domain.
Will the individual mailboxes need to get moved over or is there a way on the back end to just change their domain to ours keeping everything in place.

We are both running of Microsoft 365 so I was hoping it would be pretty straight forward.

Microsoft has a migration option that moves mailboxes -
