Hi

I am an Outlook 2007 user.

I have been using outlook 2007 over two years now. I was receiving emails to my phone up to yesterday afternoon about 16:00 (UK Time)

When I come to my main pc this morning, I got an error message saying:

" 'Mobilme Services Has Stopped Working' A Problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close this program and notify you if a solution is available."

I never signed up with any mobile services to pay any to receive my emails, I honestly do not know what happened and why it stopped suddenly!!

As you can appreciated I cannot be always on my main pc and it is important that i can be able to in touch with my contacts via emails.

If anyone who can help me to resolve this problem please, I really need you now.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you so much

Go to Tools, Trust Center, Addins - is the mobile me addin installed? If you have either itunes or an iphone and installed Apple's sync software, you have the mobile me software installed.

Disable it in the trust center by selecting the Go button at the bottom and unchecking it. Or unistall it in Control panel, Add/Remove programs.

Hi Diane

Thank you for your response, I think its resolved now.

While I got here. another question please,

I used to received your daily outlook tips emailing to me, about 2/3 weeks ago I realised that i am not receiving them anymore, I re-subscribed to your RSS feed a few times but I am still not receiving any email. Each time I subscribe to your email and RSS feeds it says thanks for subscribing but I am not receiving any emails!

Can you please help me to subscribe again so I can receive your emails again please?

Thank you very much.

I'll add your address back on the mailing list and see if i can figure out why its not working. I know the rss feed was down for a few days last week but it should be working now.

Hi Diane

I received an email from you about 20 minutes ago, thanks for that

Look forward to receiveding your emails and rss

Thanks

Hmm. The address you used to sign up here is on the email list and i don't see any bounce messages - if you don't get the one i just sent, let me know at diane @ slipstick.com. I was lazy the last 2 or 3 weeks and only sent one or two each week, so maybe its just seems like you are unsubscribed because I didn't send any. <g>

Yeap, the email address i signed up here with is the correct email address and I do want to be in the list, if I accidently unsubscribed please put me back in.

Thanks

Diane:

Will be very interesting if after all this time, you're still monitoring this forum. I have Outlook 2010, ITunes, IPhone, and regularly back up my phone to my computer.

ITunes recently malfunctioned and I had to remove it in its entirety, and re-install it. This apparently corrected the issue as all works well, except that I receive the same notification (as stated by the original poster) when I open my Outlook.

I took your advice (as quoted above) and it appears the error message has indeed stopped publishing at Outlook start-up. Can you please tell me specifically what's happening when I (unchecked) the MobileMe box. In (unchecking) the box, did I do something to my Outlook that would cause some interference between my IPhone, Outlook, and the sync process?

Thank you,

Brad

When you unchecked the mobile me addin, you disabled it - it no longer loads in Outlook.

FWIW, the mobileme addin is no longer used. iTunes uses icloud and changenotifier if you use icloud, and an itunes addin if you sync using itunes.

I found this forum when I, too, started researching why I am getting the "MobileMe Services has stopped working" error when I opened my Outlook. I am using Outlook 2003 (it's worked fine for me for years, and follow the "don't change it if it's not broken" philosophy). I back up my iPhone to iCloud now, but also wanted to sync with iTunes and save photos before I change my iPhone cellular provider. Anyway, the Outlook error started after I installed the latest version of iTunes.

I do not find Trust Center under the Tools menu in Outlook 2003. I explored around in the menu, and can't find a way to disable MobileMe (can't find any reference to MobileMe). Do you have any idea how to disable this in Outlook 2003?

Thanks

Diane,
Thank you for above,. I followed above steps and received message that add-ins can only be removed by administrator and was blocked from removing Mobile Me. At User Accounts I confirmed that I am indeed logged in as administrator, so this should have worked. Any suggestions?

Close Outlook. Right click on the Outlook shortcut you use to open it and choose Run as Administrator. If it's not listed as an option, hold Ctrl+Shift and right click on it. Does it let you untick it now?

Genius! It worked! (I had no idea there was a separate "administrator" role for Outlook itself)

It's not really a separate admin role only for outlook, but Windows has two admin levels- the one we all run as and a super admin that offers a little protection from some viruses. Run as admin means as the super admin and it's available on all exe's.

Hi, i have outlook 2003, and have the MobileMe is missing message. when i go to Tools there is NO "trust center" how do i proceed.

In 2003 you need to look in tools, options, other tab then I think its advanced button then addins... Yes, it's really buried. If you can't find it, I have screenshots at either outlook-tips.net or Slipstick.com, I'll post a link when I get back on a real computer.

Thanks for the info. followed steps all the way to the addins, only addins were one for Evernote and one for "Itunes Outlook Addin" which i disabled. restarted outlook but same problem.

Just got round to trying your latest suggestion. NB i have windows 7. I cut and pasted your file address and found the extend.dat file, which i deleted. restarted outlook 2003 but stll get the "MobileMe Services has stopped working" box, which always appears twice before finally letting me into the programme.
