Outlook - rules and Alerts - from group

I am trying to create a rule that is applied when a 'group' sends an email to another 'group.

For some reason this isn't working and it only works when the from and to are specific individual emails.

Is this a limitation in outlook 2007?

Thats Outlook 2010 not 2007.
 
basically this is what I am seeing....

In the rules it is the group name: *xxxxxx

When the email arrives it is the group email: xxxxxx@email.com

Could this be the problem?

I made a copy of this rule and change the from and to, to specific emails rather than groups and it works... so it has to do with the groups...
 
It's a limitation of Outlook Contacts and rules - when you use a DL in Contacts, Outlook has to expand it to send it, so the group name is gone. When you receive messages, the addresses are expanded, so outlook doesn't see the group.

If you used Exchange mailbox and the group was in the GAL, it should work.

To make it work in Outlook, create a contacts folder and put the group members in it, then create a rule that applies to addresses in a specifc address book, selecting the contacts folder.
