Help - I have been an idiot.

I somehow uninstalled Outlook (2000) without backing up my e-mails.

I cannot find a .pst file anywhere - no surprising really!

is there any way I can recover the .pst file deleted by the uninstall?

If there is, please keep the info simple - as you can see I am not the greatest at this.
 
What version of Windows? Try pasting this line in the address bar of windows explorer and pressing Enter - this is the default loation where outlook puts the pst files with oulook 2007 and loder.

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

The folder is hidden - so browsing or searching for pst may not turn it up. You can set it to show from windows explorer's tools, options, view tab.

Hi Peter,

It is very common mistake which anyone can do, so relax! According to my experience PST file location remain the same even if you have uninstalled Outlook (2000) because it is default location of PST file in your system. You should try to find your PST file at this location: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Outlook. This way you could find your lost PST file.
