Duplicate Emails Downloading Everytime I Open Outlook

Hello,

I am in the middle of switching over to new email server host. I have set up a new POP3 account in Outlook. Now what is happening is that each time I open Outlook, it will download 800+ emails everytime!

One question I have is when I created the account, I ticked the box to use 'existing Outlook Data File' under the 'Deliver new messages to' heading. The other option is to use 'Existing Outlook Data File'. I don't know if that is making a difference or not...

This is the first hurdle I need to overcome. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not exactly sure I understand the problem but its probably one of two things:

Outlook is not very good with new profiles and mail left on the server. Outlook 2010 is supposed to do a better job at not downloading duplicates, if you use the same pst file - it may download only new messages. Or not. You'll need to delete the duplicates after they are downloaded. If this is the problem, it should only download the dupes once. Remove Duplicates instructions

You have 2 (or more) email accounts sharing one pst file and the additional accounts are leaving mail on the server. Outlook 2010 is really bad about keeping track of the last downloaded message for the additional accounts. The solution is to use separate pst files.
