Open Draft From Compose Window?

Hello. I appreciate the help received in my recent thread re: opening the compose window only (https://forums.slipstick.com/threads/87732-Open-Compose-Only?p=319663#post319663). As a corollary, I would like to know if it's possible to open a saved draft from the compose window itself Reason: I have found myself sometimes opening up a compose window (using the compose-only shortcut mentioned in the above thread) only to realize that I instead want to edit a draft already saved. I know I could just open Outlook's main screen and open the saved draft that way, but I thought I would ask here whether there is a (shorter) way to open a saved draft when I have the compose-window-only open anyway -- much like Word's compose screen has the "Office button" at top left which, when clicked, displays recent and pinned documents in the right-hand column of the pop-open screen. I was hoping to find (or customize) something like that under the Office Button in Outlook's compose window showing a list of drafts available for editing. Thank you for any input!

Well, at first I thought I wouldn't be interested in Diane's suggestion above, but I'm back to thinking I might like to go ahead and set up a shortcut to a specific draft just to see if it would be useful to me. How would I go about this?

How did you do it?
Well, at first I thought I would have to come up with some sort of start-up "switch." But I found an easier way. And this is probably not the only way -- or even the easiest or best way -- to set this up, but it was the first way I accomplished what I wanted. :-) In Outlook 2007, simply open the window to compose a new email (or open a previously saved draft). Click the Office Button (top left) and hover over the ">" next to "Save As," and then click on the 'save as' option that shows up in the right hand column. Then choose to save in "Outlook Message Format" to the location of your choice. I chose to save to the desktop. I then dragged desktop icon created down to the taskbar to the Outlook icon where it will say "pin to Outlook." That's it. So, now, if I'm listening to some music or something and want to continue editing a draft I've started, I simply right-click on the Outlook icon in the taskbar and choose the pinned Draft. A word of warning: remember that the draft message set up in this fashion will now save to the desktop (or wherever else one has saved it) and NOT to the Draft folder in Outlook. So, when I DO open Outlook I need to remember that if I want to edit the draft in question it WON'T be in the draft folder. There may be another way to open a particular draft for editing (that doesn't open the main Outlook window) *while still saving the draft to the draft folder.* If so, I haven't found out how to do that (yet).

While it may not be the best option (since its not saved in the data file), its the easiest and most useful way of doing it. The draft does not disappear like normal drafts do, so its a good option for messages you need to resend.
