How do I link a drop down box to a percent complete box

Hello,

I am trying to create a custom form.

I know that status and % complete are linked fields that can't be edited. Is it possible to create a custom one however?

For example, I want a drop down list to display items such as: Not started, in progress, at ECR approval, at ECO approval, complete etc. And link to that: 0%, 5%, 90%, 95%, 100% etc.

Do you want two custom fields or one that links to the % complete field? You can create 2 fields and can do something like that with coding but I'm not sure if you can use the existing % field.

It doesn't have to link to the standard %complete but would be good if it could.
 
Can anyone help with this?

In the attached image, at the bottom in the Purchase Order Status section I want to be able to link a few details.

Ideally I want the default to be: PO Raised, then when this gets sent to someone for approval, I want them to be able to change this to approved and it gets sent to another email address. I then want the final person to implement something elsewhere and then change the status to complete and this puts a date in the PO sent box.

Is this all possible?

I'm not too fussed about the % complete box.
