i am trying out the 'meeting notes' button on outlook 2013 calendar items. after clicking the 'meeting notes' button, 1) i am asked if i want to share note or take notes on my own. 2) then i am asked to pick a page, 3) then a pop up tells me it is unsafe to use links, "do i want to continue".

i thought that after using the button once on a particular calendar item, i would simply be taken to the note every time on subsequent visits. not so? is there no way to avoid going through the 3 questions every time i want to add a note for a particular meeting?

Which version of windows? I don't get the popup and future notes for that appointment go to the same page. You can't skip the first question at all, it is possible to avoid the second for new notes... but you should be able to avoid the unsafe warning.

i am using win7 pro, 64 bit. of13, 64 bit.

this is confusing. i have now tried the process with several calendar entries/appointments. each one takes me through the 3 steps the first time. but lands me on a different page than the one for the chosen appt.. after the security question i can click to the proper onenote page. subsequently it will then take me to the correct page after the first question. but with the appt that i worked with earlier, that caused me to ask the question, it continues to go through all 3 questions. and creates a new page each time.
i don't know why that one acts differently.

or how to get rid of the security question. i have tried entering the DisableHyperlinkWarning reg entry, in several places, in both dword and qword form till got tired of going around and around with the process for different locations. i remember having the same issue with of10, but not what finally got rid of it.

don't see a way to edit past post.:

i think that i figured out why the first appt misbehaved, and different than others. there is text in notes field of the appt. remove the text and it works the way the others do, eliminating the 2nd and 3rd steps after the initial setup.

now if i can figure out how to get rid of the security warning. (of course eliminating the first question about sharing would be nice also)

interesting: why do i see 'edit post' at bottom of this post, and not the previous post?

I'll see if i can repro it with text in the note.

The board is configured to allow edits for a limited period of time, i think 10 min but it could be less.

i was just able to try the same operation in office 2010. much simpler. no question about sharing, and no security message (i may have figured out how to turn it off some time in the past). regarding text in the appt. notes field: in 2010 that text is copied over to a "message" field in onenote. no "message" field exists in on13.

so, for me, 2013 is a step backwards in this regard.
