Recover messages that disappeared when copying to folder

I stopped the copying process, while it was in progress........after selecting copy to folder (it was either the inbox or sent items folder I was attempting to copy) and am wondering if I can retrieve those e-mails. They are gone from the original Outlook 2010 inbox or sent folder. (IMAP). About 2 weeks later I got a new computer, had the same Outlook 2010 program installed and data migrated. Cannot find the e-mails. Can they be retrieved and if so, how?
 
when you copy, the original shouldn't be deleted. If you used Move, then stopped, you should have the moved items in the new location unless you deleted the folder.

if they aren't online or in your deleted items folder, no they can't be recovered. Sorry.
