Outlook/Exchange 2010 Recover Deleted Items to original folder

what folder were they deleted form? Typically they will go back into the folder they were deleted from but this isn't always true with shared mailboxes.




It's also possible that something is goofy (new technicial term for "bug" :)) in 2010 - I'll see if i can repro.
 
Thanks for the reply. The mail items were "deleted" from the inbox and subfolders of the inbox by way of a retention policy. When viewing the dumpster via Recover Deleted Items, we can see all of the messages. But, when recovering the items, they only recover to the folder you currently have selected in the folder tree. They don't restore to the folder from which they originally existed. The end result is that the item can be recovered, but has to manually be re-foldered into its original location.

These aren't shared mailboxes.
