Help! I selected every contact and mistakenly made them all the same category

I was trying to sort through my contacts and select all the people under the purple category.

In doing so, I selected every single one of my contacts and made them ALL purple!

I have 1800 contacts and 10 different categories that I place people into... now they are all in the same one.

I don't know how to switch them back.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yuck. Unfortunately, outlook doesn't have a log - you can select all and remove just the purple category, but you'll then need to add it back to those who are supposed to be purple.
