Exchange user showing in auto-complete

Using OL 2003 on a hosted Exchange Server 2010.
When I compose an email to another user on the same hosted Exchange Server I see two auto complete entries for these users; one entry from my address book (the one I want to see) and another entry that is the user name in the Exchange profile for that user. I can delete the Exchange Server entry, but it regenerates the next day.

Any way to hide these entries?

ie:
Bob Smith <bsmith@ms.com)
Bob Smith <Bob_Smith> (If I delete is comes back)
 
I believe it comes up because even though you choose the smtp entry, it still uses the gal version and that is what gets added to the list. But try closing Outlook right after deleting it - or soon after. Do not let windows close it for you when you shut down the computer or reboot. Some settings aren't properly saved when you let windows close outlook.
 
Thanks for your reply, I thought you had it . Deleted the contact and manually closed OL.
When I reopened OL it was still gone, but came back several hours later.
 
yes, after sending them an email. Any way to fix this or disable (I'm assuming GAL)?
 
the only thing you can do is disable autocomplete features, but it will affect all addresses, not just the GAL. Why don't you want the gal entry to be saved?
 
There are no addresses in the GAL. If I double click on the 'From' it opens the properties for the sender, under alias it does say bob_smith. Is there a way to change the alias field on his account so it shows his real email address?
 
I have same problem. Move my emails from exchange server to pop3/imap mails. When start typing mail address, outlook auto complete address from exchange GAL and when sending, mail stay in outbox. I have a success when create user as contact....but not sure..,,
