yesterday i started having problems with my default pop3 msn account that i view in outlook.
(i should note that i have no problem signing in via firefox).
i deleted local account and re-added, but now it is not accepting my password (which i am putting in correct).
i ran the microsoft repair tool and it said there is nothing wrong.
i went to 'programs' to 'change/uninstall', clicked 'change' and this error message when i try to repair outlook. (not sure if its related).
setup cannot find office.en-us\microsoft.VC90.crt.manifest
here is how i set it up:
incoming: POP3
incoming mail pop3.live.com
outgoing: smtp.live.com
log on using clear text (although i also used secure password authentication and authenticated POP...none make a difference and it is not possible to uncheck).
outgoing mail server requires authentication: checked (previously tried unchecked)
advanced tab:
outgoing smtp: port 25 (also tried 587)
server requires SSL: unchecked (also tried checked)
Incoming POP#: port 995
server requires SSL
would be grateful for any help.
thanks so much.
