How to make use of outlook calendar, contacts & tasks using personal POP3 mail

Hi All,

I hope I am posting this in the correct place!

I have office 2013 on my personal computer and office 2007 on my work computer. I previously used the full features of Outlook extensively in my old job where corporate exchange email was provided. This included calendar, contacts and tasks.

In my new job there is no corporate email or exchange server. I use an outlook.com email address but I cannot fully share calendar appointments across devices (the basic details come through but not categories etc), I also cannot copy contacts, tasks etc. I would also like to connect these features to my android handset so I can see my calendar on the move.

Is there a way of using all of these features without having MS exchange? Or is there a low cost (UK based) option for a hosted exchange service for a single personal email user?

I am totally lost on this! Any help would be greatly appreciated

Outlook.com doesn't support categories so that is definitely a no-go for you. Outlook.com doesn't support attachments in calendar, appointments, or tasks. Tasks won't sync to the native Android app, but should sync to the touchdown app for outlook.com ($5). If you can't copy the appointment, contacts, or tasks items into the Outlook.com calendar, try moving them. (You need to use IMAP to upload email.)

I'm not sure what is available for UK-based accounts, but I know office 365's Exchange online is $5 a month and godaddy offers it as well. It's definitely a much better experience over outlook.com, especially if you have a domain name.
