I recently purchased a new computer and moved (imported) my old pst file into my new Outlook 2013.
I posted here regarding ... (This computer only) ... showing on folders in Outlook.
What I didn't realize was Outlook steered me to an IMAP setup where I had been using a POP setup for close to 20 years.
If someone asks for help in removing ... (This computer only) ... in folders, it might be more beneficial to ask if the original setup was POP. Had I been asked that I would have not had all the issues I had.
I didn't understand the difference between the two setups until I spent some time over the last week learning about this. While I'm sure in the grand scheme of things IMAP is superior, for my use, POP would be just fine ... and I wouldn't have had all the issues I had.
Just a thought ... sent with the best intentions.
Dave Horne - The Netherlands .... also, if you happen to have any influence with Microsoft, pass on that I would have saved many hours if I were steered to what I _had been using_ ... a POP configuration and not a IMAP configuration.
