Outlook 2016 sent over 30 copies of an e-mail with attachments

I have sent an e-mail with several attachments from Outlook 2016 to my son.

So far he has received 35 copies of the same e-mail.

How do I stop this? How do I make sure it does not happen again?
 
That usually happens when you use a 3rd party antivirus/security scanner and it is scanning the outgoing mail. It most common when the attachments are on the larger side because the scanner takes longer and outlook keep retrying the send as it doesn't get a response back from the server.
