Calender and contacts in trash

My Calendar and Contacts folders are in Trash, probably because of this:

"If you use iCloud and an IMAP account is set as default, it moves the Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks folders to the IMAP account’s Trash folder, to lessen the chances you’ll create items in those folders."

I did use iCloud but no longer do so. How do I move these folders back where they belong? It looks as if the folder system is causing problems with my sync software.

I also get frequent messages popping up saying my Outlook account is out of date.

If I uninstall and reinstall Outlook, will that work?

restart outlook using the /resetfolders switch. You may need to move the appointments (use a list view) and contacts to the default folders.

Close Outlook. Right-click on the Start button and choose Run or press Windows key + R to open the Run command. Type or paste the following into the Open field and press Enter or click OK to restart Outlook. (There is a space before /.)

outlook.exe /resetfolders

This will reset the folder assignments to the default folders for the account and recreate any missing folders.
