Applying new form to existing contacts -- MessageClass

I want to apply a new form to existing contacts. Using the code provided in earlier threads, I have successfully changed the MessageClass for all items in the folder to the new messageclass attached to the new form. I've confirmed this by looking at Properties/General/"when posting...."). I get the new form when I create new items. I've also confirmed that the messageform property is correct for all items in the folder. And yet, I still get the old form when I select or edit those existing items. In other words the macros seems to have done what it was supposed to do, but it is sill not working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
Hello again. If it is not possible to do this, is there a way to generate a new item from an old item, switching forms? That would be a pain but better than nothing.
 
Resave the form, adding a version number on the properties page. If you used a version number, increment it higher.

Might also want to delete the frmscache.
