I am hoping that this question fits into this discussion on contacts. I am having difficulty explaining it to Google.
I am on Outlook 2016 using win 10. We have two email accounts. One for me and one for my wife. I have an IMAP/SMTP account using an optusnet carrier. She has an Exchange account using an Outlook carrier. Hers just happened to get set up that way. Both accounts show on the LHS of Outlook emails so we can select either account when Outlook opens to view respective messages.
I have set my account as the default email account but it prefers hers as the Data Files default and will not allow me to change it.
The problem I have is when I open my address book and try to add a new contact (New entry), the default of where to Put this entry in: shows as her contacts list. I have to use the drop down list to call my contacts list to put the new entry in. This is a nuisance because sometimes I forget to do the drop down and a new contact meant for my contacts list gets added to hers.
Is there any way I can make my list show first (on the top) in this drop down list? The majority of emails and contacts are mine and she does only a few emails.
I assume it is because she has an Exchange account. If there is no other way to change this order is it easy to change her account to IMAP without deleting it all?
Thanks
Mal
