A friend of mine had been using Outlook 365 to access her Cox email, which had last year been outsourced to Yahoo. She liked POP protocol.
Then it stopped getting email on Jan 14.
I tried deleting the account and re installing.
Then the same for the profile.
Then I uninstalled/reinstalled Outlook.
Each time it self tested and said it was fine.
but it never received any mail.
Then I wondered if it could be due to POP.
I asked Google AI and it agreed that was most likely the problem, that Cox/Yahoo was not supporting POP anymore.
I thought it was worth a try.
I reconfigured using IMAP and it sends/receives fine.
I have the old pst file open in Outlook for her to access.
But it has created a logistical nightmare. She has 42,000 emails in her old inbox in the pst file.
3000 emails in the new IMAP Inbox.
I guess that's due to the way her POP was set up, removing them from the server.
(I got Outlook set to show the Total Number of Emails in each Inbox, not the Unread Number of Emails)
When I go in via the Yahoo web interface, I only see about 3000 emails in the inbox.
But now we need to get rid of the 3000 or so duplicates in the pst file because she needs to refer back to them frequently.
Any ideas?
Thanks
