I'm using and have been for some time, Outlook 2003 on windows 11.

Suddenly Outlook email stopped working and I got that dialog box asking for Username and Password (frequently).

I've seen it before and the last time, I had to change the password to an "App Password" which was successful until now.

So, I got a new App password from MS, and entered into the email set up, but it still doesn't work.

I left all the other settings as they were before the problem changing only the App Password.

The area of failure is that Outlook won't log on to the incoming server, as it doesn't recognise my Username or password.

I've run out of ideas - so, help please.

Well, first of all Outlook-2003 is over 20-years old, and I doubt it will run properly on Windows-11 (64 bit). Even if it does run, Microsoft doesn't support it.

Secondly, if you needed an "App Specific Password" for Outlook ... I tend to get those from Apple (for iCloud) or from Google (for Gmail).

If you are ready to run Microsoft Office 2021 Pro (includes Outlook-2021) ... I know where you can get a perpetual-license (forever-legit) standalone version of the whole suite for like $40 (one time charge).

I would love to know! I was looking into options on buying Office. Like paying the 69.99 a year etc.
Thanks!

@Vince I'd also be interested in the standalone office 2021. TY in advance.

Is it legit? The ones Stacksocial and Groupon are selling are volume licenses. (I bought one to check. )

What is your definition of Legit?

StackSocial is definitely legit. I pay with PayPal over there.
The License-Key that you buy at StackSocial works at setup.office.com (so, it's "legit enough" to pass that primary test).

I've found that it is best to retrieve the key from your StackSocial Purchases Section within 7-days and get it added to your Microsoft-Account. Then, you can use it on any one single computer at a time (and yes, it can be moved to another computer later). I always install as 64-bit version ... as that works with iCloud for Windows just fine now-days. Once it is added to your Microsoft Account, it is yours to keep and use as you wish (within reason of course). :)

Between my wife and myself, we have several computers and laptops going. Over the recent years, I have purchased six Microsoft Office Pro 2021 for Windows and one for my Apple-Mac. They all work fine. Hard to beat for full MS-Office with real Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and the rest. All the real programs installed onto your local computer (and yes, they all update and auto-patch themselves just fine). I'm no expert, but they seem real (and Microsoft blessed) to me.

Oh, and if you need to contact Microsoft about something, you can (like you don't have to worry about the Key or anything like that). I had a little problem years ago moving a Key (installed Registered version) to a new computer and Microsoft Support happily helped me with that.

I will post a link here. If you think it is legit-enough, please leave it. If not, please feel-free to edit-it-away or delete the post entirely. How's that?

Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows (Lifetime License for one Windows Computer at a time)

PS. Diane, thanks for this forum and still supporting the real Outlook program.
