When I want to share something with another person in my contacts using Outlook.com, I use the Edge Share button in top menu bar, and it opens the Outlook New Message screen and plugs in the link - BUT it is not a hyperlink and clicking at the end of the link and hitting enter does not create the necessary hyperlink either. When using other browsers it does create a hyperlink using this method. Perhaps it is an Edge problem and not an Outlook problem. Suggestions??

The link is added but it is not clickable? Is it clickable once received? (In Plain text messages sometimes links are not clickable when composed but are when reading.)

Are you getting this dialog? It is clickable in the inbox.

That is correct, not clickable in any instance, text sent/ received or link sent/ received.

Same holds true when using 'default mail' which is New Outlook. Sometimes it does not even open a New Mail to show the link to the shared content.

I have not seen any reply from you, perhaps I missed it? Still do not get a hyperlink ever.

I missed your reply. Sorry.

It could be an Edge setting as it works here. You have HTML as your default message format, correct? (It shouldn't matter because the client will make the link clickable.)

Thanks for the reply.
Apparently, clicking on the Edge share and 'copy link' will not create a hyperlink, but if you right click in the search bar it gives you the option to copy a hyperlink, then open Outlook and create new email and paste in the hyperlink.

I used to use Brave and Mailto, and it would open a New Mail box and I could paste in the hyperlink.

Guess Outlook and Edge just want you to jump through more hoops.

Thanks, you again for your help in solving my Delima.

Here is a link that explained it to me.

Well, does not look like that worked either/this time.

That article applies to copy and pasting urls - the top is the default paste. This is the method I use, not the share link, which is a couple additional steps. (Although if all you are doing is sending the link, it's probably a wash - but I usually have a message open and want to paste a link in.)

The Share command lets you choose how to share... choose the account in the top right (if you have more than one).

The link is not clickable in the recipients inbox in classic Outlook but is in new outlook.

Also... it is not sent by the mail client, its pushed directly to the server to be sent - which defeats the purpose of including Outlook as an option IMHO. (I set Outlook to work offline to verify, plus the account in the screenshot is not in either outlook.)

Received mail in screenshot is in new outlook.
