Hi,
I am using a program called Backup4All to migrate my Outlook 2003 contacts, calendars and setting from one Virtual XP Guest (VM1) to different virtual machine (VM2).
I need to determine the correct folder location on (VM2) into which I will restore the backup created on (VM1)
This should be a simple task but the Backup4All documentation gives me no direction.
I have included two screen shots of my initial attempt to restore my files.
On my first attempt assuming Back4All would automatically detect the correct folder location, I selected the C:/ Drive on (VM2) to my restore my backup from (VM1).
This attempt was unsuccessful and resulted in the creation of a folder named "Microsoft Outlook" on the C:/. Screen shot 1 shows the contents of restored folder C:\Microsoft Outlook.
Screen shot 2 shows the Backup4All Restore Wizard.
I assume that I should restore to the location C:\Profiles\Jerry\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook but I am confused by the creation of the folder named C:\Microsoft Outlook. I expected C:\Outlook and I am uncertain if Outlook will be able to find the files if the folder is misnamed: "Microsoft Outlook" instead of "Outlook"
As I said, this is a simple task and I am embarrassed in my ignorance.
Should I:
1. just copy the contents of C:/Microsoft Outlook to the C:\Profiles\Jerry\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder?
2. run a new restore with the restore location set for C:\Profiles\Jerry\Application Data\Microsoft\
or three should I bypass using the third party Backup4All software and create the backup files using outlook alone.
I am not as concerned about restoring my old data as restoring my custom forms, macros and settings from (VM1) to (VM2)
I need some direction and any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Jerry
