Using Outloook 2013 32-bit IMAP with local .ost. I cannot use categories in my contacts. In researching and implementing workarounds suggested by Diane Poremsky (and others) I can now successfully use categories in my IMAP email and calendar via keyboard shortcuts I assigned (thank you), but it does not work in contacts. The following article helped me, however, the excerpt below about contacts is not true in my situation. Is it because i am using an .ost not a .pst? If so, how do I convert to a .pst? Can anyone help please? Thank you.

"In Contacts, all of the flag options are available. The keyboard shortcuts work for categories and as with the other Outlook items, once a category is applied, you can right click on it and make changes. You can even add categories from the options dialog (File, Properties). Yes, in the wacky world of Outlook 2013 IMAP accounts, the category picker on the Options dialog is disabled on mail, appointments, and tasks but it works on Contacts."
