Outlook keeps my messages as unread

I'm having an issue with one of my terminals, apparently Outlook is keeping the messages marked as unread even thou that have been opened numerous times. I was wondering if some one could help me figure out how to stop this from happening, thank you in advance for any time spent on this issue.
 
We usually recommend deleting the imap data file and letting outlook rebuild it - but if you do this make sure the calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes folders are empty (if you have any in the imap data file marked 'this computer only')
