Rebuilding OST - Any Concerns?

Microsoft seems to recommend simply deleting and letting Outlook 2010 rebuild the OST file upon restart, if there are any issues with the file or profile per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983036. I have used scanpst.exe, but as they mention it can take quite some time. Are there any concerns with losing settings or settings being reset by rebuilding the OST file? Or any other concerns?
 
When you use Exchange, everything syncs up to the server, so no, you shouldn't lose anything by deleting it. The only real drawback is the size of the ost - it can take a while to sync a really large ost (as in multi-GB).
