OK> I'm new to this. I have outlook ... 2007 and I have a 2014.PST. I have a file named 2016.pst but I don't know how to make it come up when I open Outlook instead of 2014. I've archived all of 2014 that I want and even made a template for future .psts but I don't know how to do this. Eventually, I want to replace it with a 2017.pst.

Is the 2016 pst in your profile? If not, go to tools, account settings - select Data file tab and click Add. Select the 2016 pst to add it to the profile, then click set as default and restart outlook.
