Could someone please point me to an up-to-date and basic article on merging pst files? I'm using Outlook 365 in Windows 10.

I spent some time searching generally and on slipstick particularly but most articles are either very old or are a bit too vague or assume knowledge of Outlook that I do not have. Even the tutorial "How to combine two Outlook data files (*.pst) into one" did not seem to help as it referred only to merging folders or it suggested third party apps which I don't think are really needed.

Grateful for any help.
 
Yeah, you don't need a utility. That article is more for manually moving mail into another data file and preserving custom views - I will add more about using import to it.

If you want to import the entire file, use File > Open & Export > Import & Export > Import from another file. Select the root folder in the pst you are importing. If there might be some of the same mail in both, choose the option to not import duplicates.
