Can I create a local PST file for SPAM on a drive that is usually disconnected?

Hello, I have tons of emails that is mostly spam. I would like to keep these as there may be some item I accidently miss filed or for some other statistical reasons.

I have Outlook 2013 and have multiple PSTs for different email address for business and person use. I am familiar with creating a new PST that is tied to an email account, but not sure if I can create a PST that is not tied to an email account.

I have several concerns and or questions.
First, can I create a PST that is NOT tied to an account? If so, HOW can I do this?
The second, is there a way I can use this PST when my backup disk is online only, and the if I open Outlook, it will not generate any error if the file is not able to be found (since the drive is not connected) ?
 
You can create a pst through various routes.

Then you need to open it, from File / Open.
It will then appear in your folder list and you can drag mail into it.

When it is not connected, I believe you will get an error message and ask you to try and locate it, i think if you cancel that it will leave you alone.
 
You can create pst that are not linked to the account.

You would need to close the pst before disconnecting the drive, Note that outlook is fussy about pst files on network or removable drives.
