I need to create an email address that utilizes an account number for the name part of an email address.
The email address should appear something like this DEGFY00008 <someone@gmail.com> or DEGFY00008 (someone@gmail.com). The hope is that the email would be sent to listed email address but would display all the address in the recepient's INBOX. So far I have tried this in test emails from Outlook, gmail and ISP's webmail without luck. Shows sending but no receiving of test emails. Thanks for any and all help.

Are you sending to the address for sending from the address?

Sending from: some servers change the display name to the account name as a spam prevent technique.
This is where you'd change the display name for mail you send (and gmail keeps the display name).

Sending to an address: the recipient's email client will use whatever it is set for (in the screenshot above, or one similar), not the display name it was sent to.

I am sending the email from my personal Outlook/personal GMAIL/and personal ISP web mail. I am creating a new contact with the name set to DFTRF00009 but showing the email address as my own in brackets like DFTRF00009 <sam.smith@whatisnew.com> . It did not work, found where it was sent, got a few DAEMON error emails for some but others nothing. However when I tried this on my work Outlook email application it worked.

It mattered to my personal Outlook, ISP webmail and Gmail as they did not receive a single email, The common thread to all three email applications that did not get the email was the (my) ISP connection. My work email is on an Exchange server in the cloud. Don't know about my ISP server. Now the question in my mind is all the emails going out to those individuals, with their email application setups...
I guess I could set it all up for a receipt request.
