when i move inbox mails to another folder in outlook the mail disappears

Hi there.

I have a gmail email account but I am using outlook 2016 to read my mail. When I move an email from my inbox to another folder or sub-folder (neither of which are under inbox), the mail dissappears but if i log into Google mail, the sub folder shows the moved email.

I need to be able to view the email in the sub folders in outlook.

does anyone have an ideas what I need to do to sort this out.

My google account in outlook uses MAPI
