calendar freezing

Hi, I have Outlook 365 running on Windows 10. Today whenever I tried to access my Calendar screen I'd get a green dotted circle whirling in the middle of the calendar screen, and if I attempted to open anything Outlook would freeze and I'd have to force a restart. Hours later, I don't even get the courtesy of a green spinning circle - just a completely frozen app if I try to open any calendar item. What gives?
