OK -- I have my 2010 Outlook set up that all mail comes into the exchange mailbox and then based on rules it will move mail over to folders set up in my personal folder (.pst). I don't have my .pst set up as the default location as I don't want mail to auto move over there all the time.
Problem: It creates a calendar for the exchange folder called Mailbox - my user name and another one called Personal Folders. Whenever I get a new meeting request / calendar item it ALWAYS tries to send it to the one in personal folders. Problem is my work phone (android using TouchDown software to get company email) will only look at the exchange folder calendar. Also, my co-workers can only see if I have time available for appointments if the current appointments are in the exchange folder calendar.
When I manually move calendar items from the personal file calendar to the exchange mailbox calendar then any updates / cancels / etc fail because Outlook can't find the calendar item since it keeps looking in the personal calendar. If I move it to the exchange mailbox calendar and a cancel request comes in I see "Meeting cannot be found in the calendar" because it looks at the wrong calendar. Even when a new appointment comes in, and before I even accept it I get a notice at the top that says "This meeting is not in the calendar, it may have been moved or deleted" at the top. If I accept or tentative, it dumps it into the personal calendar. I know that if I click the calendar button at the top of the email I can then go save it in the exchange mailbox calendar, but that's a pain in the *** when I should just be able to click "accept"
When
When I create a meeting / appointment it always creates in the Personal Folder calendar, not in the exchange mailbox calendar also.
Any ideas on how I can get Outlook 2010 to use the exchange mailbox folder only, and not create one or use the one in the personal folders?
