Cannot remove crashed account from Outlook

I have been having problems trying to remove a crashed account and was directed to this converation where a guy was having exactly the same problem as I am..

Under post #6, he was given instructions from Diane Poremsky in fixing the problem..

"The profile is corrupt and i was hoping you could delete the bad acct from the mail applet as it would be the easiest. You could try editing the registry but it might just make things worse - a new profile might be the fastest and easiest fix.

To delete it from the registry, find the windows messaging subsystem key -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

look for the subkey that expands - it should have a folder under it for each account in the profile. The corrupt account is there too."

My issue is that I am a serious nuffy and dont know how to find a windows messaging subsystem key, or what one is for that matter.

I would really appreciate if anyone would be able to help me out with some specific steps or instructions with what I should do here.

Type Windows key + R to open the Run command

Type regedit in it and press Enter

Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

Expand the profile and find the account key - double click it to open it and verify its the correct account then right click on the 000000x key on the left and delete it.
