Cannot understand how to use Favorites

I use Microsoft 365. In Outlook I have many customized folders all with an IN and Out subfolders, If I add one of the folders to Favorites The In and OUT subfolders do not travel with the Favorite choice. What is the point of Favorites if I cannot see my emails. Also I would have thought if you click on a favorite the appropriate folder should be obvious in the main list.

It's to have you most frequently used folders easily accessible. But it doesn't support nested folders - you need to add each on separately.

One of their concerns (besides being able to actually add nested folders without making it unstable) was it would be cluttered and removes control from the user. Say you have 50 subfolders in your inbox but you only use 3 regularly. Adding all 50 when you add the inbox would defeat the purpose of using favorites. At that point you might as well stick with the folder list.

In the folder list, you can change the order of data files (if you have more than one) - just drag them up and down the list. You can also move folders around within a data file (as long as not imap) - put the folders you use most often at the top. (The Folder tab > Show A-Z button should be unselected.)
