I have 5 Comcast.net aliases. I change the passwords yearly. For some reason, alias "3" won't take.
Process:
1. File menu
2. Select alias #3
3. Select the account settings button
4. Select server settings
5. Verify Incoming mail
6. Type in the password in the password field.
7. Next
8. "We're getting things ready" window for several seconds.
9. Internet Mail ...window pops up.
Server = imap.comcast.net
User name "3"@comcast.net
password ***********
yes save password is checked. But makes no difference if not.
When I type in a new password, 2 seconds (as if it's communicating with the server)
Then the "Internet Email" window pops up again.
Finally errors out and I get ..
"Something went wrong and Outlook couldn't save your settings. Please try again"
I can log on via a web portal to #3 email account fine.
I have used the same process to change 2 other (1,2) of 5 aliases. All are working fine.
