Is there a way to export the autocomplete entries from an old Outlook 2010 (IMAP) profile into a new one?
 
The list is all addresses in your contacts you sent to + all address not in contacts are added to the Suggested Contacts, unless you disabled it, so you can recover the addresses but they don't always stick when you try to add them to the list without sending a message.

Thanks for the link. In that tutorial, you say you can use the autocomplete list in a new profile by copying the nk2 file. How do you do it with Outlook 2010 which has no nk2 file? Thanks
 
I went in the old profile, copied all the Suggested Contacts, then went back to the new profile. Created an email, pasted all the suggested contacts in the body of the email, and sent it to myself. That did not fix the issue. I also copied all the old Suggested Contacts to the new suggested contacts list. Did not help. Any ideas? Thanks
 
Outlook 2010 has a 'steam' and some people have moved or captured the names from the stream and created contacts.

To populate the autocomplete list, you need to start a new message, click the To button then add the names it to. I like to save it to drafts and delete it later... but the addresses should be on the autocomplete list once you close the message form without sending.
 
OK that worked, thanks. BTW, trying to understand the difference between Suggested Contacts and Autocomplete. From what I can tell, when you send an email to someone not in your contacts, it goes into both Suggested Contacts and Autocomplete list. But the Autocomplete list is limited to something like 200 contacts, and Suggested Contacts goes to 2000 or so? Would this be correct? Thanks
 
You're halfway there. :)

Suggested Contacts is everyone you sent mail to that outlook doesn't see in your contacts. (You might end up with duplicates because outlook doesn't always see well. :)) outlook creates real contacts - they really have nothing to do with autocomplete, except that if you reset autocomplete, you won't lose the addresses you've sent mail to, because they are either in contacts or suggested contacts. There is no limit to the # of contacts that can be in suggested contacts.

Autocomplete is up to the last 1000 addresses you sent email to.
