quick help with "changed by" field in a shared mailbox??

Hi!

I manage a shared mailbox. I have recently added two new users. If they have reading pane turned on and just touch an email, "changed by" gets turned to their name. If reading pane is off nothing happens. If they open the email with reading pane off, it also changes it to their name in "changed by" - so I am guessing somehow these two are doing some action that marks email as read or something.

This doesn't happy to anyone else (about 20 other users) - but I can't find anything in their settings that are different than mine... any thoughts?!

let me know if I'm not making sense.
 
No, more like no one wants to do any work on Fridays. :)

It's the reading pane options - marking the message read will change the modified by name. Opening messages should affect everyone, but the (highly annoying) default setting for reading panes is to mark as read after 5 seconds.

setting is in tools, options, other tab - look for reading pane options.

I thought this would fix it!

but alas, it didn't :(

any other thoughts?
