When using IMAP with a single email account on two or more computers, if you edit an email in the inbox of one by say adding a category or flag will this change be synced and reflected on the other and hosting mail server.
No, its not synced between computers - the imap servers don't support the field. Because its not supported by imap servers, microsoft removed the category command - you can use shortcut keys to set the category.
Diane thanks for the reply.
With the scenario previously mentioned I have two workstations monitoring email from single account inbox using Outlook 2010. What I want to do is from one PC apply a category and flag to certain incoming email and then be able to view the changes made to that same email from the other computer. Is there away of implementing something like this? Would I need Exchange Server or is there another type of solution.
