Outlook 2010 IMAP issues

Hello,

I use AOL for email and when I drag an email to a folder it shows the email in the folder in Outlook but when you go to mail.aol.com that email is not there? So I dont know how many emails ive lost that I thought was going into the folders I was putting them in and just so happen to go to mail.aol.com and they're not in there

why is this happening and how do I fix it?

I'm having the same issue in Outlook 2010 using Google Apps.
1 mailbox the inbox shows no msg at all, and another mailbox, certain folders are missing a few msg.
When I login online, they are all there
 
Christopher: Are you dragging them to a folder in the AOL imap account? If you log in to aol.com, do you see the messages?

For google apps, are the messages labeled for the new folder? Google mail is weird - it's usually hard to lose mail and easy to end up duplicates.

Both: are you using a view that hides read messages?
